“I recommend that citizens do not get tested for coronavirus if they do not have symptoms.” This was stated by the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov. He got acquainted with the organization of work at the “St. Anna” hospital in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Professor Angelov explained that in front of the large hospitals in Sofia and in the country there are already mobile points for rapid antigen tests. They will be free for citizens.

“We monitor prices, we want to offer the best and the best price,” said the Minister of Health.

In Sofia, the checkpoints are in front of “Pirogov”, “Alexandrovska”, “St. Catherine”. Professor Angelov explained that going there for people without symptoms is risky, because in front of them there is a crowd of many people with complaints.

“I am happy with the number of people who were cured today,” Professor Angelov said. And he assured that in Sofia there is no problem with hospital beds or ambulances. There are 3,000 beds for COVID patients in the capital. Yesterday there were 530 ambulance calls during the day. As of today, the new cars received by CSMP are included in the work.

“Anyone who is deemed urgent can seek help from a medical institution, either by ambulance or their own transport. Better than sitting and waiting at home. The most important thing is to wear a mask until you get to the hospital,” recommended Professor Angelov .

He also assured that there is Remdesivir in the country.

“Dr. Maeva is the director of RHI, Dr. Penchev has been appointed by Deputy Director Maeva as Deputy Director. The responsible person I keep in touch with is Dr. Maeva,” explained Prof. Angelov.

Additionally, there was a full consensus on “green corridors” for purchases for seniors 65 and older. This will be introduced in the next few days.
