As of January 1, the salaries of all those working in Bulgarian healthcare will be increased. So said the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov at a briefing in Burgas.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that they would increase the salaries of doctors by BGN 600 and of nurses by BGN 360.
According to him, the decision was made by the Council of Ministers, and the increase will apply to all doctors, nurses and nurses in hospital care, regardless of their ownership – state, municipal or private.
“As of January 1, all doctors in Bulgaria, depending on the hospital they work in, will receive BGN 600 in addition to their salary, each nurse will receive BGN 360 in addition to their salary, and each nurse will receive BGN 120. This is within next year, from January 1 to the end of the year.
In fact, 18,000 nurses, 20,000 doctors and 12,000 nurses will receive additional remuneration, “said Minister Angelov.
He added that the total amount that will be allocated to these remunerations throughout the year is 237 million BGN.
The Health Minister assured that the situation around the covid crisis in the country is under control, specifically noting that the problem in Burgas, the city with the most signs of patient return and lack of hospital vacancies, has been solved.
“Starting tomorrow, another 50 beds will be opened for patients with coronavirus and the unified information system is working, which shows where in Burgas hospitals there are free beds in covid rooms,” he added.
He rejected President Rumen Radev’s attacks that the coronavirus situation had been abandoned. The Minister of Health clarified that he works constantly and gave the example of the Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Burgas.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Borissov also jumped sharply on Radev because of Gen. Mutafchiiski.
