Military plane transports emergency child from Varna to Sofia

In On-duty Army personnel and media from Hostile Air Force Base were activated yesterday and today to provide transportation by Spartan aircraft for the needs of the Ministry of Health.

The task is to provide emergency medical care to a seven-year-old boy housed for treatment at St. Marina Hospital in Varna, according to a Ministry of Defense press release, cited by BTA.

Yesterday, April 15, a crew of three members of a Spartan plane with Commander Captain Georgi Pashev transported a team from the Military Medical Academy along the Sofia – Varna – Sofia route.

The plane took off from Sofia airport to Varna at 17:52. The medical team comprised of Professor Nikola Vladov, Assistant Professor Rumyana Andonova and Dr. Radoslav Kostadinov had to undergo emergency surgery for a small patient stationed at Varna Hospital.

The plane returned to Sofia airport at 00.20 today.

Today, a crew with Captain Commander Evgeniy Zlatanov transported a Spartan aircraft to a medical team from the Varna hospital and the seven-year-old patient to accommodate the boy for treatment in Sofia. The plane took off from Sofia airport to Varna at 14.05 and at 16.38 it landed back in Sofia.
