Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary Michael Schumacher, won the title in Formula 2, the warm-up series before Formula 1. The German driver finished ahead of rival Callum Helot.

Starting next season, Schumacher, who is 21 years old, enters Formula 1, where he will drive for the Haas team. The young driver is part of the Ferrari Academy and is closely followed by the Scuderia, for which his father won five consecutive titles.

The German finished the season with just two wins at Monza and Sochi, but also another eight podiums. Schumacher posted a total of 20 innings in the top 20 in 24 competitions.

Schumacher finished just 18th in the last outing, the sprint race in Bahrain. However, his great rival Callum Helot finished eleventh and that did not threaten the German. He did not take points, but he triumphed with the title.

At the start of the 34-lap distance, Schumacher and Helot fought a great battle for third place, but several aggressive maneuvers by the German ripped off the tires and he stopped in the pits to look for new ones. This opened an opportunity for Helot, but the Brit had also worn tires, sinking down the spine, without scoring any points.

Schumacher finished the season with 215 points, 14 more than Helot. The German team “Prema” triumphed with the title in the teams.
It’s amazing to be able to say that I am a champion. I am very grateful to everyone at Prema who gave me an opportunity and motivated me to do my best every day. I enjoyed those two years, and the title is an award for everyone on the team, “Schumacher said after Sahir’s start.

“We are also team champions, which shows how strong our performance was.”
