Velkov’s words were confirmed by the newly released NSI statistics. According to her, mortality in Bulgaria in the last week of October increased dramatically compared to October 2019. The mathematician and crisis management expert also made an emotional appeal in relation to drug storage, which emptied important drug pharmacies:
“Please people! Stop buying drugs! Don’t stock up, at least without being sick. I have relatives for whom I cannot find drugs. I have dozens of acquaintances for whom we cannot find drugs. There are hundreds of strangers who cannot They write to me. There are thousands of people who suffer from many other diseases for which these drugs are FREE. Even for pregnant women who can lose children … there are no drugs! “
Velkov made no secret of his outrage at the appointment of Associate Professor Mangarov as head of the covid room at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases and called for a delay.
