Massive bee infestation in the Pleven municipality of Gulyantsi. Farmers again report the illegal treatment of agricultural land with preparations and say the case is repeated year after year, but the institutions do not solve the problem.
A bTV team visited the town of Milkovitsa to speak to beekeepers from across the Pleven region, who have not slept for a second day due to their lost spring production.
Farmers literally carry sacks of dead bees to show the extent of the disaster. His predictions are that there will be hardly any bees for the sunflower or the next grazing.
“I want to ask the state how it will help us. Does it help us in any way? Is this Ordinance 13 for beekeepers followed? Is this how the Minister of Agriculture helps small and medium-sized enterprises? Is this the help?” Georgi Ivanov , who has two apiaries in the villages of Shiyakovo and Lenkovo, asked about Tazi Sutrin’s air.
His colleagues said the massive plague began on Saturday during the day when planters from a company that cultivated their land passed through the fields. The farmers were warned, but not fully.
“People came with planters, not sprayers. This is a complete mafia for me. Last year was like this, last year, again, and now again. In general, no case confuses them, there are no strikes. This is complete anarchy. The sample procedures are complex and slow. This is a mafia and they are defending it from above, “said Dimitar, a local beekeeper.
Beekeepers even asked the question: what kind of honey is consumed after production is poisoned.
The mayor of Dolni Vit – Ventsislav Ivanov, also became involved in the matter, explaining that the beekeepers have been informed that they will be treated. It has been announced that from May 8 to 16 it will be sprayed with the herbicide “Typhoon”, whose active ingredient is glyphosate, deadly to bees.
So that the bees do not suffer it, they must not leave the hive, which also condemns them to death.
At the same time, beekeepers say, the company doesn’t follow the spray rule two hours before sunrise.
Now they have to prove to the state that they really are victims, but the path to this test goes through mandatory tests, the prices of which start from 400 BGN.
Therefore, the farmers once again asked the state to refer the case and help them.
