To make an exception and on December 31, the restaurants in the hotels that will operate until 00:30 will be proposed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova at the National Operational Headquarters. Nikolova also announced to bTV that she was a secret client, disguised with a mask and hood to verify the quality of the hotel’s services and if the measures are met.

As Minister of Tourism, I will continue to suggest that on New Year’s Eve you can stay in the hotel restaurant until midnight, said Mariana Nikolova on the “This Morning” program.

“The industry’s proposal is that hotel restaurants are open until at least 12:30, so that guests can celebrate the New Year instead of bringing food and drinks to their rooms,” he explained. According to her, people will not be allowed to gather and celebrate.

“I think it will be more hygienic to walk and meet in rooms rather than tourists. This depends on further discussions with the Prime Minister and Headquarters, “the minister added.

“I made several visits as a secret client in a sports jacket and hood in some of the hotels, I was a secret client in Velingrad to see if the schedules were really being observed. “Businesses do not allow violations: if a violation is committed, it means that it will be a stain on the entire industry,” said the deputy prime minister.

Regarding the winter season, the minister said that currently reservations are 30%, and in the coming months they will have Bulgarian visitors again. We expect last minute bookings, as well as guests from neighboring Serbia, Turkey, North Macedonia, who can come by car, he explained.

“I did an inspection yesterday. There are tourists in Yastrebets, in Pamporovo and also in Bansko. During the on-site inspections on December 24 at the spas, I saw people quietly dining and accepting the situation,” said Mariana Nikolova.

With regard to tourism, practice shows that antigen tests work, the minister said.

Asked about vaccination against COVID-19, the Deputy Prime Minister said that he was ready to be vaccinated in public and hoped to have this opportunity soon.
