The chairman of the Group of the European People’s Party (EPP) in the European Parliament, Manfred Weber, commented on the protests in Bulgaria.

“We respect the protesters, but the regular March elections will decide,” Weber wrote on Twitter, reporting that he had a “good conversation” with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

“The European Commission’s report on the rule of law was objective and showed that more needs to be done. However, the government has made progress on many issues, bringing the country closer to the eurozone and Schengen,” Weber wrote.
It is the President of the EPP Group in the EP who will be one of the speakers in the debate on our country tonight in Brussels.
