Ludogorets ended their participation in this year’s Europa League with a 3: 1 loss to LASK Linz in the center of Razgrad. In this way, the Eagles leave the race without winning a single point.

Against Linz’s guests, Ludogorets went ahead with a goal from Elvis Manu, but came back after goals from Weissinger, Renner from a penalty and Madsen. In addition, Stanislav Genchev’s team played almost half an hour with one man less after Alex Santana was sent off with a direct red card. The guests also hit two rays and missed a penalty in the first half.

In the first minutes of the match, both teams tried to create something more dangerous in front of the rival goal, but they never succeeded. LASK was the most active team on the pitch and held the ball the most, while Stanislav Genchev’s players relied more on counterattacks.

In the 11th minute Dominic Reiter made a good run into Plamen Iliev’s penalty area, but his shot was blocked by an Eagles defender.

In the 14th minute, Linz’s team came close to scoring again, but Reiter’s shot hit the crossbar.

A little later, LASK tried to threaten Plamen Iliev’s goal after Goyinger fired diagonally, but Ludogorets’ base saved.

In the 27th minute, LASK created another danger for Iliev. Renner was very good in the penalty area, but his shot went wide out the door.

In the 40th minute, the invited players had a penalty claim after the ball hit Mavis Chibota’s hand, but the referee ruled there was no penalty and play continued.

One minute before the end of the first half LASK got the right to take a penalty. Cicinho fouled Egestein in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the white spot. Goyinger stood behind the ball, but his shot into the right corner of the gate was deflected by Plamen Iliev.

Ludogorets took the lead in the first seconds of the second half. Elvis Manu, who appeared as a replacement for Mavis Chibota, stole a ball in the middle and found Kesheru on the left flank. The Romanian ran and passed parallel to the gate, where Manu closely scored the 1: 0.

In the 54th minute Ludogorets was very close to the second goal. Claudiu Kesheru shot dangerously from a free-kick in front of the box, but the LASK goalkeeper managed to shoot into the corner with a great save.

In the 55th minute, the guests reached the tying goal. After a misunderstanding in the middle of Ludogorets, the ball reached Philip Weissinger, who beat Plamen Iliev with a shot outside the area.

In the 62nd minute LASK took the lead. After an excellent save by Plamen Iliev Alex Santana committed a foul in the hosts’ penalty area and the referee gave a penalty. The referee also raised a direct red card to the Ludogorets player. Behind the ball was Renner, who with an accurate shot made the score 2: 1 for the guests.

Just 5 minutes later, the LASK players reached the third goal. Egestein was found right in the scheme by his teammate and passed it to Madsen, who made no mistakes at close range.

In the 79th minute, the guests could have reached the fourth goal, but Balic’s shot hit the crossbar after a good intervention from Plamen Iliev.
