Liverpool have shown who the champion is. “Merseysiders” broke out of a Leicester fight

Liverpool once again lead the Premier League after beating Leicester 3-0 at Anfield.

Johnny Evans scored an own goal in the 21st minute, shortly before half-time Liverpool’s new addition Diogo Jota was scored, and at the end of the game the net was stretched by Firmino (86).

Thus, Jurgen Klopp’s boys climbed to the top of the standings with 20 points, as did Tottenham.

Leicester, meanwhile, is in fourth place with 18 points.


Liverpool started the game strong and could have scored early on, but Manet headed the crossbar with his head. Leicester responded quickly, with the Foxes even jumping for a penalty after the ball hit Matip’s hand, but the white spot was not indicated correctly.

The Merseysiders continued to crush and totally dominate, but Jota and Mane reported gaps. This led to the 21st minute, when Johnny Evans scored a spectacular own goal and Liverpool deservedly took the lead.

In the 41st minute, Andy Robertson made a perfect cross to Jota, who headed in for 2: 0. At the end of the half, Leicester failed to cut through Tillemans.

The second half started badly for Liverpool after Nabi Keita’s injury. However, the hosts continued to dominate and do what they wanted with the shy “foxes”.

After an hour of play, Manet failed to get past Schmeichel, followed by a pass from Jota. A little later, Evans may have scored a second own goal, but the crossbar saved him.

In the 77th minute Firmino aimed at the crossbar, followed by a shot from Mane and another crossbar. This led to the 86th minute, when Milner crossed from a corner and Firmino headed in for 3: 0. In the end, Liverpool deservedly took the victory and the three points.
