The youth teams of Russia and Bulgaria play with a result twenty in a qualifying match for the European Championship next year. The Russians cut us off in the first minute with a goal from Maxim Glushenkov, and in the 65th minute subsidiary Igor Diveev doubled the home lead.
The Little Lions need at least one draw to have a chance of getting second place, which entitles them to a blitz.
The match started a nightmare for the “lions”, who assumed the role of catching up in the first minute of the match. It took Maxim Glushenkov just 28 seconds to master Konstantin Kuchaev’s good pass, overtaking Angel Lyaskov and sending the ball into Daniel Naumov’s net with an accurate shot to the ground.
Shortly after, our first blow came. Tonislav Yordanov stepped behind the ball on a free kick, but his attempt was inaccurate and he flew away from Matvey Safonov’s gate.
In the 12th minute, Ivan Ignatiev fired a powerful projectile at Naumov’s door, but the ball hit Petko Hristov’s body. In their next attack, the Russians could have doubled their lead after Glushenkov intercepted a cross and attempted a shot, but luckily, Daniel Naumov reflected the Russian’s experience.
After a quarter of an hour, the Bulgarians responded with an attack, which ended with a strong shot by Valentin Antov at Safonov’s gate, which nevertheless hit Sbornaya’s right guard. Shortly after, in a new attack by the “lions”, Stanislav Ivanov sent the ball to Kaloyan Krastev, who, however, missed and missed.
At the end of the first half, the game was fully developed in the half of the Bulgarians, who still did not allow a new goal and returned home with a goal behind at the break.
The second part began as the first ended, with an attack from Russia. Sbornaya immediately started the offensive and reached our penalty area, where, however, Naumov was careful and killed the ball. In the 53rd minute Ivan Ignatiev rushed into the “lions” penalty area and fired, but his attempt was successfully parried by Petko Hristov.
After an hour of play, Ignatiev had another chance to score, but Naumov was back in the right place and saved his goal from a new goal.
In the 65th minute, however, the Russians fired again, who was killed by Naumov, but the ball reached Roman Evgeniev, who dealt with two Bulgarian defenders and passed Igor Diveev, who came in from the bench, who bombarded the Bulgarian goal with a powerful shot for 2: 0.
A serious mistake by Angel Lyaskov seconds later could have cost a third goal at Bulgaria’s gate and only luck protected our net from a third goal.
