Levski already has a general sponsor in the person of the Austrian construction company Strabag, announced the blues.

Previously, the club announced that it had liquidated its financial relationship with Vivacom. This happened with the signing of an agreement between the two countries a week ago (December 11).

The outcome of the negotiations for the general sponsorship agreement was expected months after a series of speeches by “Levski” owner Nasko Sirakov and supervisory board member Konstantin Papazov. The announcement of the news coincided with a strong publication by one of the leaders of the National Club of Supporters (NAC) of “Levski” – Lyubomir Kostadinov-Youth. On Wednesday night, he attacked Sirakov on Facebook, writing that the contract with Strabag had already been signed, but had not been announced, because the “typical player” Sirakov had a prankster to answer in the event of a loss to CSKA. . in the derby on Friday.

Hours later, the club announced the new general sponsor. The general sponsor contract with Austrian construction company Strabag was officially signed today at 12.55 in the club’s office, Levski wrote. The Blues do not specify any details about the agreement, but specify that it is already in force and more. against CSKA on Friday, the company logo will be on the team’s kits.

The management of “PFC Levski” thanks the colleagues of “Strabag” for the good and professional relations during the negotiations and affirms that they will do everything possible to fulfill the expectations of their partner regarding advertising cooperation between the most beloved football club. . in Bulgaria and the world-renowned construction company ”, added the football club.

The company, which has been operating in Bulgaria since 2002 and is involved in the construction of key sites, participated in the modernization of Sector A of the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium. She became a sponsor of The Blues in mid-September 2015, when there was talk of government intervention in the deal. In February 2019, the sector was named after the company.

This is the second sponsorship deal for “Levski” after the bookmaker “Palms Bet”, which will put its logo on the sleeves of the team’s jerseys.

A positive outcome is now being reported in relations with Vivacom. “With the active assistance of Mr. Spas Rusev and in accordance with the terms of the contract, the club can boast of eliminating debt of more than 3 million BGN,” wrote the blues on its website.

Rusev, who was the owner of Levski, is in the management of Vivacom. In early June, he said that the Blues’ debt to the telecommunications company had been paid off, but three months later it turned out that was not the case.

“Levski’s management thanks Mr. Rusev and expresses their hope that the partnership with Vivacom will continue for a long time and develop to be even more successful for both countries,” added the blues. They have a valid contract with the company for the name of their stadium.

The road to crisis

The club found itself in a very difficult financial situation after the events surrounding the former club owner Vasil Bozhkov, who is in hiding in Dubai and against whom many charges have been brought. When he arrived at the head of the club, the new owner Nasko Sirakov said that the debts amounted to a total of BGN 24 million.

The Blues announced a drastic budget cut and began working to attract sponsors and develop targeted campaigns for fans.

In the summer, the club’s chief executive, Pavel Kolev, said Levski needed to change the way he works. “The club needs to create a structure that proactively seeks out advertisers, not a model in which advertisers generally appear here with orders from somewhere.”

The issue of Levski sponsors is a sensitive one for fans who are divided in their opinions. This was most notable during the donation by MRF MP Delyan Peevski, which became a subject of wide discussion and asked that the money not be accepted. In the end, the funds were accepted.
