Legendary Formula 1 driver Emerson Fitipaldi faces bankruptcy. Creditors have filed 145 claims against the 73-year-old Brazilian, “Folia de Sao Paulo” reports.
According to the publication, the two-time Formula 1 world champion and two-time champion in the “Indianapolis 500” owes a total of 8.6 million euros.
Fitipaldi’s largest creditor is Safra Bank. The financial institution accuses the world-famous car racer of hiding real income. The bank’s management affirms that the Brazilian leads a real life in the United States, but with various financial machinations he refuses to pay his financial debts.
Emerson Fitipaldi faces a second bankruptcy in a few years. In 2016, he was also in a difficult financial situation, when his debts reached 6.5 million euros. As a result, all of his property, trophies, and racing cars were confiscated.
