Ken Hensley of Uraya Heep died at the age of 75. The news was announced by his brother Trevor in a Facebook post.
His name became world famous as a member of the so-called classic 70s rock band Yuraya Heep. He is the author or co-author of most of the band’s classic compositions, including: Look at Yourself, Lady in Black, Easy Livin ‘, July Morning and others. All this makes Hensley one of the most significant figures in the history of rock music.
“I am writing this with a heavy heart to let you know that my brother Ken Hensley died Wednesday night,” wrote Trevor Hensley. “His beautiful wife, Monica, was by his side, reassuring Ken with us for the last few minutes. We are all devastated by this tragic and incredibly unexpected loss and ask that you give us some space and time to accept it. Ken will be cremated. at a private ceremony in Spain, so don’t ask for funeral information. Ken is gone, but he will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts, “wrote his brother.
