Despite the serious resources of uniformed officers, necessary for the strict security of the city’s stores and hypermarkets, the Plovdiv police continue to control the district’s highways. In the last 12 hours in the territory served by the OD of the Plovdiv Ministry of the Interior, a large-scale action for driver inspections was carried out, as employees focused on supporting and regulating traffic, controlling drivers with risk behavior / improper overtaking, maneuvers, deprivation of advantage /, as well as drivers with dangerous and demonstrative driving without the necessary distance, performing risky maneuvers, overtaking or passing from one lane to another, creating with their behavior an immediate danger for the other road users.
On city and district roads, police control was strengthened regarding the observance of speed regimes, driving the vehicle after alcohol consumption and by incompetent drivers. For traffic offenses – driving after drinking alcohol and under the influence of drugs and their analogues, 9 fast-track proceedings were initiated, as were those arrested.
Three controlled drivers were driving under the influence of marijuana and amphetamines, and the crimes were committed mainly on the roads outside the district city. Six of them were drunk drivers, and in the cases the apothecary threw 1.55, 1.68 / twice / and 2.70 per thousand of alcohol. The intensified control of vehicle drivers during weekends aims to establish and prevent violations of the Road Traffic Law, which directly affect road injuries. In just 12 hours from Saturday to Sunday, 771 vehicle inspections and 838 people were carried out.
The infractions found were 290, and in 102 of the cases the drivers had defective travel documents. In the course of the action, law enforcement officers drew up 96 minutes to establish an administrative offense and the fines imposed for the slip were 140. In 55 of the cases, the drivers inspected used seat belts and 6 were drivers who spoke on the phone mobile while driving. 44 minutes were drawn up for drivers whose vehicles were technically defective, and in 6 of the cases the inspected vehicles had no completed IGP.
Three of the drivers were disabled and 7 of them had their driver’s licenses revoked due to unpaid fines. Law enforcement officers have also found drivers who do not follow traffic signs and perform incorrect maneuvers. 8 fines were written with slippage for the infractions. During the action, 54 electronic receipts were delivered, which the participants in the movement should have received for previous violations. The other violations of the Public Procurement Law are 49.
The Plovdiv Interior Ministry warns that it will be uncompromising towards road violators, and drivers who endanger their safety and that of other road users with their risky behavior will be punished with the full force of the law.
