An accidental tourist filmed the landslide
A large avalanche fell on the Rila Lakes cabin in the Rila Mountains. The video was accidentally filmed by a tourist in the area.
The images show how seconds before the avalanche begins, a skier descends into a prohibited area. Immediately afterwards, the huge mass of snow breaks up. Tons of snow from four gutters fell simultaneously. Miraculously, no one was injured.
AFTER THE FATAL INCIDENT: The danger of avalanches in the mountains remains high
Immediately after the avalanche, another skier descends completely against the rules of the section. According to mountaineers, such avalanches are a rarity there. The Mountain Rescue Service warns that avalanche danger is currently at an all-time high.
