Former Levski defender Ilian Stoyanov gave a lengthy interview to Tema Sport. Today we have published the part where he talks about CSKA coach Bruno Akrapovich.

Mr. Stoyanov, was 2020 the most difficult year for Levski?

– Yes, I think it is the saddest year for Levski. Fortunately, we finally saw a light in the tunnel. I’m not talking about sports and technology. The good news is that there is great hope for the financial salvation of the club and now everyone should know that Levski will not “put a hyphen” after his name. Personally, I always believed that a sponsor would be found for this team, but there was a delay and it definitely worried people. Fortunately, the fans showed that they know how to love and helped a lot. I hope that there will never be moments like this when the club’s actions are distributed like a fair.

How would you comment on the situation in sports and technology?

– Unfortunately, I don’t see development there and there is a lot, a lot of work ahead. I can’t say anything positive when we ended the year with a loss to CSKA. Many people try to make this loss because of the judge. Yes, he made many mistakes to the detriment of the Blues, but we are the Levski and we must never seek justification with external factors and especially with the judges. Let’s take a look at other people’s gardens. Let’s tidy up our garden.

Did you see any changes after the arrival of Slavisa Stojanovic?

– No There is no change. The truth is that Georgi Todorov did not behave like a Levski coach, but the new coach did not change anything on the field. Levski is standing still and hasn’t moved an inch with Stojanovic, he’s too slow to go from defense to attack. Many unnecessary passes are used across the field. Everything goes from one place to another. The wing receives the ball and instead of advancing, beating an opponent, returns the ball. There is patience and perseverance in building attacks. There are some words from Mario Zagalo, when he says that a good coach doesn’t watch the game, he understands it. I don’t see that in Stojanovic.

Are Levski’s players that weak?

– I do not share this opinion. On the contrary. I think there are good players at Levski. Unfortunately, the twins, who are mid-team, have been injured, but there are other quality players who are not being used properly. If I am a coach, I will always bet on Bozhinov. For me, however, he will not play at the top of the attack, but behind the striker. In general, he is a much better footballer than Roberta. Valerie can open spaces, give a pass, make a good shot. He is very strong facing the door. Heard they make you lose another 8 pounds. If you lose that weight, you won’t be able to walk in the field. When we talk about diets, we have to look at Niki Mihailov. His condition is not serious. It is a shame for his family, for the club logo and for himself. His figure is a mockery of football. It is unacceptable that the Levski captain looks like this.

In the days leading up to the New Year, the “Stanimir Stoilov in Lu-dogorets” saga broke out, how did you receive this news?

– In fact, I didn’t believe until the end that Murray would take over Ludogorets. If he had gone to Razgrad, he would have closed the door on Gerena forever. In my opinion, his place is in Levski. He is financially independent and has a duty to help the club and the man who built it. If it weren’t for Nasko Sirakov and the patience he showed for Stoilov at the beginning, when we fell from Beveren and Publicum, now Murray would not be what he is, he would be in Montana, for example.

If you are the boss of Levski, would you invite Stoilov as coach?

– I have another option. I would invite a young man, with a new vision and a lot of ambition. My choice would have been Stilyan Petrov, but unfortunately I would hardly have agreed to work in Bulgaria.

– I think he worked a lot at the club and was much more helpful than other people, but I can only guess what the reasons for his decision are. I hope it is not missing.

What are your expectations for the development of the Bulgarian championship? You were wearing CSKA gear, will you keep your fingers crossed in the Reds’ title fight against Ludogorets?

– Should I cross my fingers for CSKA? Never! For me, my period in the “Army” is a closed page. I went there as a child, even though I was a Levski player. The truth is that I had a fight with the coach of Velbuzhd Kyustendil and then Ivo Mihailov-Mihata (son of the author of one of the goals in the door of Ajax with the CSKA team), who later became champion with Loko Plovdiv, I He said, “Come on CSKA.” With the red team I did the best I could and in those years I did not lose against Levski, but my heart was always blue. When I had to leave CSKA due to a locker room scandal, I continued to pursue my dream of wearing the team of my favorite team and I am happy to have fulfilled it. Now I don’t care who will be the champion. I am interested in Levski and hope to raise a glass soon. It is possible this year, because the country cup remains an achievable goal.
