The Gunners deservedly did it after controlling their development throughout the game. New hires Willian and Gabriel also had great performances: the former Chelsea player recorded two assists, while the defender scored a goal. For Fulham, the hope remains that the team will eventually get used to the harsh elite climate. Scott Parker’s team showed some good things and had their chances, but did not take advantage of them.
In the second round, they host another rookie: Leeds, while Arsenal host West Ham.

In the second minute there was a misunderstanding in the Arsenal defense, which could lead to problems for the team. Ainsley Maitland-Niles tried to return the ball, and Gabriel and goalkeeper Bernd Leno did not understand each other and Ababukar Kamara tried to attack immediately, but Leno managed to overtake him.
In the seventh minute, Denis Odoy tried a shot from the edge of the area, but in the hands of Bernd Leno.
Just two minutes later, the guests found out. Captain Obameyang was found on the edge of the penalty area on the left and passed Granit Jaka, who tried to hit. The ball bounced off Tim Reim and then landed on Willian. The Brazilian tried a shot, but Marek Rodak blocked it. However, Alexander Lacazette was left alone and managed to pass the ball into goal with an empty net. There were doubts about the Frenchman’s ambush, but after a check with the VAR system, the blow was taken into account.

Shortly after the goal, Niskens Kebano had the opportunity to shoot at Leno’s goal from close range, but was blocked by a Gunners defender.
The Gunners continued to hold the ball longer and control the pace of the game, but there were no serious dangers in the following minutes.
In the 27th minute, Arsenal’s newest addition – Willian made an excellent direct free kick from around 20 meters, but the ball hit Rodak’s right crossbar.

In minute 57 the result became classic. Willian recorded a second assist on his account after doing great from a depth in the middle of Fulham, where Obameyang dominated his chest, then came forward, shot and scored a really beautiful shot in the upper right corner.
