Juventus, unrecognizable weak, became easy prey for Porto – World Cup – Champions League

The Porto team won with twenty-one against Juventus in the knockout stages of the Champions League and achieved a historic first victory over this rival. Mehdi Taremi shocked the “Old Lady” in the second minute, and seconds after the restart Musa Marega doubled the suffering of the “Bianconeri”. For most of the match, Juventus was far too ideal, and the Portuguese displayed enviable discipline and were consistent in their actions. At the end of the match, the “Old Lady” still woke up and returned a goal through Federico Chiesa, which made the rematch in Italy extremely intriguing.

The hosts showed deadly efficiency and punished their opponent’s first mistake. Unfortunately for Andrea Pirlo, it came in the second minute of the match, when Rodrigo Bentancourt couldn’t clear the ball and handed it to Mehdi Taremi. The Iranian was quick to take advantage and gave an early advance to his team.

After the goal collected, Juventus took the initiative in their hands, but the errors in the team continued. In the 23rd minute, Szczesny failed to kick the ball and it reached the feet of Sergio Oliveira, who fired a powerful shot, but far from goal.

After about half an hour of play, things got even more complicated for the “Old Lady” after team captain Giorgio Chiellini signaled that he couldn’t continue the match and was forcibly replaced by Merich Demiral. At the end of the first half, Juventus finally had their chance, but Rabio’s shot was deflected by Marcesín.

The second half started like the first, with a goal from Porto. This time, the Dragons only needed 20 seconds to send the ball into Szczesny’s net. Musa Marega reached for Wilson Manafa’s pass and doubled his team’s lead from close range.

Porto’s good play continued and another offense followed, ending with a strong midfield shot from Sergio Oliveira, but Szczesny stepped in and saved with one hand. Ten minutes later, Bentancourt tried to repair his first goal, but the ball flew over the crossbar.

Twenty minutes before the end, Juve woke up and looked towards the door of the “dragons”. Álvaro Morata, who came in from the bench, received a good pass from Cristiano Ronaldo, but failed in the final shot. Logically, the hit of the “Old Lady” is not late. Federico Chiesa encountered a difficult ball and fired from the move, sealing Marcesin’s door. The guests took advantage of the momentum and seconds later were able to restore parity, but Ronaldo failed to catch the ball.

The drama at the end was complete, after much additional time the guests claimed a penalty, which were not satisfied by the referee. Ronaldo made a breakthrough into Porto’s penalty area, but fell to the ground after contact with an opposing player. However, Del Cerro ignored the situation and instead of a signal for the VAR the last signal from the referee sounded, which infuriated Andrea Pirlo’s players.

Thus, Porto created the surprise in the round of 16 so far, but on March 9 Juventus will try to change the course of events.
