In NOVA’s position, the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca stated that as a result of their continued efforts they hope to be able to deliver the next quantity of vaccines to Bulgaria two days ahead of schedule.

“The production of vaccines, in particular the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID19, is a process of a high degree of technical complexity. While AstraZeneca makes a tireless effort to meet the challenges that arise during production, there may be some changes and difficulties in the introduction of each new production process. For mid-March, two more deliveries are expected ”, said the manufacturers of the preparation.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Health sent a strong letter to the company about the announced delay in vaccines.
He points out that there is currently a serious delay in the supply of vaccines by the company. As an example: on March 1, Bulgaria will probably receive only 52 thousand doses of the drug, although according to the plan it should be more than 142 thousand.
For this reason, the Minister of Health insists that the company urgently send the 52,000 doses of the drug to Bulgaria tomorrow, and we are ready to provide air transport for this purpose.
