As I guessed, there is a deal! Britain has calmed down, you will be able to drive your trucks and fish without wondering if you can or can’t. European countries have learned a valuable lesson: even trying to leave the EU is a huge, costly and futile step.

Because it can, it can, by meaning, no. Populists, who are everywhere, will continue to talk about how the EU is falling apart, the hybrid Russian platoons will continue to fuel the exit rhetoric, but the nonsense of the penny will only make a little noise in the system and nothing more.

Work on the reintegration of Britain and the EU starts tomorrow. Lessons have been learned, hope must not be forgotten too quickly.
