The Plovdiv District Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against Yordan Takov, 46, for intentionally killing more than one person, a father and a son, Vasil Botev, 51, on November 26, 2019 in Plovdiv. And Hristo Botev, 31, a crime under Arte. 116, para. 1, point 4, in conjunction with art. 115 of the Penal Code.
In the case, it was established that the accused and the two victims were family members. They had a business relationship. They were engaged in the supply, recycling and marketing of coffee machines. The defendant Takov possessed a legal Makarov pistol, and a dispute arose between them in Plovdiv on November 26, 2019, because the defendant wanted to take a common coffee machine to the company, Hristo Botev did not agree. He shot the father and son with five bullets.
Witnesses in the case were questioned, physical evidence seized, and numerous expert reports prepared. The conclusion of the complex forensic medical examination shows that the death of Hristo Botev was caused by an acute loss of blood after receiving three shots, and of his father Vasil Botev, who was shot twice, by a wound in the neck area.
The defendant Takov has been placed in pre-trial detention and is in prison.
The penalty provided by law for the crime charged is fifteen to twenty years in prison, life imprisonment, or life imprisonment without parole.
