Johns Hopkins: infected coronavirus worldwide now more than 2 million

More than 2 million people are infected with the new coronavirus worldwide, according to data from US-based Johns Hopkins. USA, which maintains statistics based on official information.

It reported 2,019,320 registered cases. 119,483 people have died worldwide from coronavirus-induced Covid-19 disease.

Those most seriously affected by the pandemic are the United States with 682,619 infected and 23,529 deaths. In Spain, there are 170 099 infected and 17 756 deaths. In Italy, there are 159,516 infected and 20,465 deaths.

1,509 people died within 24 hours in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins. This represents a slight decrease in the level of 2000 deaths in recent days.

US officials have suggested that the worst could have happened and that the epidemic will peak this week.
