Former motorsports champion Ivan Tsarski died at the age of 75 after a 4-year long illness.
Ivan Iliev Tsarski was born in 1945 in Panagyurishte. In 1970, he started for the first time in a car race with the Opel Record.
In 1974 and 1975 he was proclaimed champion of Bulgaria with Lada. After that, he was part of the Bulgarian National Motorsports Team.
Ivan is the father of 18-time Bulgarian champion Iliya Tsarski, driver and owner of the “Avtotsar Racing” club in Panagyurishte.
Iliya Tsarski announced her death on her Facebook page: “Ivan Tsarski Sr. has left us forever. He was a great man who was not only my father, he was my friend and teacher. A man who showed me the right path in my life and career. We will miss you so much, dad! Rest in peace !”
