“The king of salami” in Russia Vladimir Marugov was killed by two shots with a crossbow in his sauna, reports Lenta.ru.
“One of the alleged killers has been arrested,” said Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee (ICR).
According to her, the operation to catch the suspect was carried out jointly by the TFR and the Russian Interior Ministry. The detainee is originally from one of the Central Asian republics, born in 1971.
Operational search activities are currently underway to identify an accomplice of the detainee.
Marugov and her partner were in the sauna when two masked strangers, armed with a crossbow and a pistol, assaulted her. They tie the hands of the businessman and the woman, then threaten, torture and demand money from them. The next moment, Marugov was shot in the chest with a crossbow.
However, his girlfriend manages to free herself from the ropes, jumps out the window and runs towards the neighbors, who call the police. Meanwhile, the criminals fled in a car whose registration number was hidden in a plastic bag.
The police catch up with them, but the bandits abandon the car and flee to a nearby forest.
A criminal case for “murder” has been opened in connection with the incident. During the inspection of the place, the crossbow with which Marugov was shot was found. The criminals’ car was also found.
