A real nightmare for hundreds of Bulgarians who were blocked trying to leave Great Britain. Our compatriots are also in the port of Dover, for more than two days. They cannot continue or go back. Many trucks are also trapped due to border closures. How long can this block last?

This is a difficult question to answer at this point. The hope of our blocked compatriots is that the borders will be opened soon. They expect this to happen in the next few hours.

More countries have closed their borders due to the new strain

Most Bulgarians have been waiting since Sunday night to board the ferry from England to reach France by water and then to Bulgaria. There are also eight babies in the port, and according to our Foreign Office, the British side does not provide conditions for our people. There is no food or water. The road back is blocked because the road is closed and it is unclear if the road ahead will be open. Trap for many carriers. As of this afternoon, more than 350 Bulgarian trucks were queuing to enter France.

“Our company currently has 54 trucks, which are now literally at a standstill. The queue until yesterday was almost 70 kilometers. The police are already starting to dismantle it and stop the trucks in the intermediate parking lots”, says Nikolay Rashkov, representative of an international transport company.

The company hopes to take its drivers home for the holidays, but hopes are dashed.

“To put it mildly, they are nervous, worried. The drivers have a commitment to both the truck and the goods it contains. And let’s not forget that Christmas is in a few days. These people must go back to their families,” Rashkov said.

The ban on entry from the United Kingdom to our country is lifted for some people (REQUEST)
