Today, mass immunization against medical personnel against COVID-19 continues across the country. Vaccination in Bulgaria officially started on Sunday. The first to receive the vaccine was the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov. He was followed by hospital directors.

According to the head of “Pirogov” Prof. Asen Baltov, the number of people who want to be immunized in his hospital is increasing.

There are no data on the side effects of the drug in our country, according to the National Operations Headquarters.

“Absolutely painless, without any problems,” said psychiatrist Petra Marinova.

“I believe that in this situation this is the best way to protect myself, my loved ones and my patients. I believe in the vaccine,” said Vihra Milanova.

How do the first immunized against COVID-19 feel in Burgas?

“Doctors at Alexandrovska Hospital have expressed their wish to be immunized with this first batch. This is voluntary. Most of the colleagues are on the front line,” said the director of the medical institution, Prof. Dr. Boris Bogov.

Those who wish to be vaccinated must first complete the information about their health status. They are then examined.

“After the immunization, wait about 20 minutes in case there is a quick reaction. Finally, the patient is given a ticket indicating that he has received the vaccine. After 21 days it is re-immunization,” explained Dr. Vasil Mihailov.

In “Pirogov” there are 1,200 doctors willing to get vaccinated.

“We have the case of a colleague in Pirogov who was infected in April. He suffered from all the symptoms and the clinical picture. He passed, formed antibodies and 15 days ago he became ill again,” said the director of “Pirogov” Prof. Asen Baltov.

Haskovo

85 people will be vaccinated in Haskovo in two days.

“This pandemic must stop for people to return to normal. I lost many of my loved ones, including my brother. Maybe he would be alive then if there was a vaccine,” thinks pathologist Dr. Hristo Elenski.

“The total number of applicants is 150. With 650 employees, there are not many, but let’s not forget that most of the doctors and nurses managed to overcome this disease. Unfortunately, we lost colleagues, ”commented MHAT-Haskovo Director Dr. Georgi Gelov.

Pazardzhik

The first person to be immunized in the Pazardzhik region was the director of the state hospital where the coronavirus affected most of the doctors. He believes that the vaccine is the only way to save himself from the insidious infection.

“I am fine. I do not expect side effects. This is our chance to overcome the disease. No matter how much we take care of ourselves, there is a risk of getting sick, because we know many patients,” said MHAT-Pazardzhik director Dr. Krassimir Temnilov.

They are immunized against COVID-19 in three hospitals in the Pazardzhik region.

The hospital will vaccinate 70 front-line doctors. Some of them have already contracted the coronavirus.

“I passed COVID-19 in September this year with relatively mild symptoms, but I did not form antibodies, so I followed the experts’ recommendations and immunized myself,” said cardiologist Dr. Vladimir Ivanov.

Those who have already received the first dose of the vaccine should avoid contact with infected people and people with flu-like symptoms until they are immunized again in January.

“While they wait for the second immunization at 20 days, they must comply with the anti-epidemic measures, because the first is not enough as protection,” explained senior nurse Elena Stancheva.

Plovdiv

The largest number of vaccinated is in the Plovdiv region: 285 doctors. The 68-year-old nurse from the Emergency Service of the University Hospital “St. Georgi” Raina Todovichina was among the first to be vaccinated, and today she says she has no side effects after the injection.

Dr. Madjarov after vaccination: I feel fine and have no complaints

“I have no lateral complaints, except for discomfort when moving my arm. This is normal for any intramuscular injection,” he said.

For now, doctors are warning that people who have had the mild or moderate form of the coronavirus can get vaccinated.

Varna

In Varna, a queue of people has been forming in front of the RHI building in the coastal city since the morning. The first physicians to request immunization were front-line physicians.

“Personally, I am motivated by the fact that after receiving the vaccine, I will be able to work more calmly and not worry about the infection,” said Dr. Veselin Vassilev from Beloslav Hospital.

“I think we gain much more than we can lose with this vaccine. In case of infection, the consequences are quite serious,” said the director of the Hospital for Cardiology – Prof. Dr. Nikolay Penkov of Varna.

Vratsa

Vaccination of front-line doctors begins in northwestern Bulgaria. The first doses will be placed today in Byala Slatina. The vaccines arrived this morning at the Vratsa Regional Health Inspectorate, where representatives of medical institutions from all over the region were waiting for them.
