Jurgen Klopp feared he would be fired if he didn’t get Liverpool on his feet quickly when he replaced Brandon Rodgers in the fall of 2015.
He came to Anfield in October, a year after Merseyside had finished sixth in the previous season and did not perform well in the first few months of the new year.
Gradually, however, Klopp revived the Reds and became European and World Club Champions, and when soccer resumed, they lifted the Premier League title.
However, Jurgen knew from the start that he would need time to model things as he imagines them in his mind.
“It was clear that we would need time. There was no way to handle things like a magic wand. Everyone wanted it, but there was no way to do it. So I had to ask for time, this is the case. I was never fired from my career and I don’t have experience with these things. But I knew it was different in Liverpool and if I didn’t accelerate enough, I would be fired. It’s very simple. So at first I said I had to stay at least four years (to be successful in the future). of the four-year period itself, it’s about the time it takes me.
The best part is that after only 7-8 games, the owners of Liverpool were happy to have taken me. They saw that we were on the right track and stopped asking questions.
They were full of faith and they really believed that things would work. However, we never thought of losing the final, as happened with Seville, Ciudad and Real Madrid. Analysts have always said that “if Klop does not win the next final, something has to change,” recalled the German.
He started his coaching career in Mainz, then took over Dortmund in 2008 and after seven years at the club he came to Anfield.
The coach said that there is no special secret that will bring him success and that everything depends on the organization.
“The field of play has always been like this and the rules haven’t changed much since I became a coach. These things are clear. The rest is adapting to the situation. Of course, a lot of things change. The way you change, too. ” I started it myself, and now I have a lot of coaches around me. “
