I was surprised by two unscrupulous lies

ACTS Post opinions with a wide range of perspectives to encourage constructive discussion.

It rarely surprises me, but two unscrupulous lies have sunk my jaw.

Unscrupulous lie number 1: Chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev claims that he is the initiator of yesterday’s hearing of the Bulgarian authorities in the European Parliament before the subcommittee for monitoring democracy, the rule of law and civil rights.

What is the truth? The hearing was organized by the chair of the subcommittee, Dutch MEP Sophie In’t Veld.

Perhaps because he likes to act crazy, as mentioned in one recording, the attorney general is lying to the Bulgarian public that he has assembled a subcommittee made up of 14 MEPs.

The truth is that they get used to you there, not you. You can accustom Boyana prosecutors to a clan ritual. No MEPs.

If Ivan Geshev is the organizer of the audience in question, why did the organizer himself decline the invitation to participate and send his deputy? Or did he have a very urgent job in the Dupnitsa camps: looking for Janek, a month after she disappeared?

And is it possible for Ivan Geshev to organize an event where a horse is read to him?

Unscrupulous lie number 2: GERB, in the person of its MEP Emil Radev, announced that the use of gallows, coffins and body bags by protesters in Bulgaria was condemned at the European Parliament hearing.

What is the truth? None of the members of the subcommittee condemned the actions of the protesters in Bulgaria. On the contrary, the representatives of the Bulgarian institutions, not the protesters, were severely criticized in the subcommittee. That is why GERB is silent.

In fact, the invited president of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination Ana Dzhumalieva spoke out against the protesters. The MEPs who are members of the subcommittee were surprised that the president in question presented the government and the prime minister as discriminated against.

Probably the jaw of MEPs hangs here too.

Imagine, what is the most normal? The most normal thing is that the president of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination condemns the rulers who insult and discriminate against protesting Bulgarians, calling them “gay”, “freaks”, “monkeys”, “flock of sheep”.

And baaaam with a hammer to the head: the lady presents the government as discriminated!

Certainly for a civilized MEP this is very surprising, but here in Bulgaria we are not surprised. I hate that joke, but “here it is”. Ana Dzhumalieva has been the president of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination for many years. She has been nominated and appointed to this position by the ruling majority in Parliament and it will not only undermine her incredible salary of BGN 11,000 a month! And if you want to hear it in court in The Hague.

Provoked by these two blatant lies, I will once again quote the Attorney General’s favorite, Abraham Lincoln:

“You can lie to the whole nation for a while. You can lie to part of the people all the time, but you can’t lie to all the people all the time.”

After these two unscrupulous lies, I can safely say that this system does not need any reboots. Nobody wants a resumption of unscrupulous lies, of service and “sissies”, of the abominable lack of justice, fairness and retribution. This system needs a shutdown. Because that has to end!
