Husbands Found Dead in 4 Days in Dobrich (UPDATED)
A 52-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were found dead at their family home in the Regjiata district of Dobrich. The signal was given by his son on November 17 at 7:30 p.m. A team from the Emergency Center found the death of the family, which, according to the doctors, occurred 4 days ago. It has been established that the cause of the tragic accident was a gas leak from the heating appliances.
No signs of violence were found. The case was reported to the Dobrich District Attorney’s Office. An investigation is ongoing.
District attorney Radoslav Buhchev said the family lived on the first floor of a small apartment in an apartment block in the Reggie area of Dobrich. Their deaths are believed to have occurred from November 14-15. The two were found in separate rooms. Gas heaters attached to gas cylinders were included in each of the rooms. These are not stoves, but household appliances that are intended only for open spaces and in no case for indoor premises, even more so for such small rooms, said the prosecutor Buhchev.
The man was found in his bed and his wife on the sofa in front of the television. It is currently believed that the cause of the couple’s death was lack of oxygen.
“Most likely the flame went out and the gas continued to saturate the air in the rooms,” said prosecutor Buhchev.
There are no signs of violence or theft. An investigating police officer conducted an on-site inspection. The devices have been confiscated.
“It is most likely an accident, but we are also awaiting the results of the autopsy. An investigation is under way,” said Radoslav Buhchev.
