High school students will study online until the end of November, joining fifth through seventh grade students.

The police officers will also help RHI inspectors distribute quarantine orders.

Prof. Angel Kunchev, Head of State Health Inspectors, will propose additional measures against the epidemic to tackle the coronavirus epidemic in Bulgaria. Some of them include the return of the so-called green corridor for those over 60, that is to say. They will be able to buy again from 8 am to 10 am, when access for other citizens will be limited. An obligation for employers of up to 50% employee attendance will be introduced when it is not possible for work to be completely online.

This was announced today by Associate Professor Kunchev at the briefing of the Ministry of Health. At the moment, these are proposals that will be discussed and formed in orders issued by the Minister of Health. However, the effect of additional measures against the epidemic related to the use of mask and the outdoors, the transition to distance education for high school students, the closure of nightclubs and clubs will last until the end of November.

“I do not share the 100% optimism of some government officials, because at this rate of compliance with the measures and the increase in cases, we will achieve who knows how many results,” Kunchev said, citing his decision on additional measures.

They also include limitation of working hours and cafes and restaurants to 10 or 11 p.m., online training for all universities, as well as for students in grades 5 to 7.

To address the lack of medical staff, the requirement of a 10-day quarantine for contact persons will be removed. These medical personnel will undergo a PCR test on the third day of contact and if it is negative, they will go back to work, added associate professor Kunchev.

To catch up with the delay at the RHI, Interior Ministry police officers will also be involved in delivering prescriptions to those in quarantine, said Health Minister Prof. Kostadin Angelov.
