TO Bulgaria has reported 1,442 side effects of COVID-19 vaccines so far, the director of the Executive Agency for Medicines Bogdan Kirilov said in a briefing in the Council of Ministers, quoted by BTA.

The signals from those vaccinated with the manufacturer’s “Modern” vaccine were 108, from “Pfizer” – 332, from “AstraZeneca” – 1002, Kirilov noted.

“Local reactions with flu-like symptoms are also reported more frequently. What is more characteristic of vector vaccines is that the temperature is higher, above 38 degrees. Muscle pain is reported. These symptoms generally disappear within 24 hours, rarely up to 48 hours. ” Kirilov added, adding that few reports meet the criteria for severity and require hospitalization.

Mandatory vaccination of medical personnel is not being considered, Health Minister Kostadin Angelov said.

Any patient in need of hospital treatment, including planned treatment, if found to be in a dangerous condition, will be admitted to a medical institution, Minister Angelov said. Patients with cancer diseases can be operated on, he recalled the texts of an order issued by him days ago. Chronically ill patients can also be admitted to hospitals for further treatment if necessary.
