Lewis Hamilton won the 90th contest of his career and the seventh of the season. He also did the fastest lap in the penultimate round of the race and took the maximum number of 26 points. Thus, the Briton took the lead with 55 points of advantage over his teammate Valteri Botas.

The race itself lasted over 2 hours and was stopped twice. The drivers went out three times during the race.

“It was all impressive. It was like running three races in one day. It was an incredibly difficult day, obviously with a difficult start.

“Obviously the heat and keeping Valteri, who was fast all weekend, wasn’t easy and I was behind at the beginning. My heart is racing. It’s great to be here and win 90 races!”

On the other side of the garage, Valteri Botas is once again disappointed with the result. He led early in the race after an extremely good start. In the first of the two restarts, however, he lost his first position and was unable to win it again until the end.

At one stage in the race, he even had to fight Daniel Ricciardo for second place. Towards the end, Valteri tried to get close to Lewis and record the fastest course, but failed.

“It seemed like I didn’t have a chance once I lost first place on the second start. I’ll keep pushing and trying to be better. Things have to work out for me at some point.
