Roma hit a man near Plovdiv and the motive for the attack turned out to be a hat. The hooligan who inflicted the brutal blows received his punishment only a few days ago. He was sentenced to one year in prison under a strict initial regime.
The ugly scene took place in May, on the road between the villages of Stroevo and Trud. Two friends sat down to eat at each other’s house. They had beer and concentrate, but around 8pm they ran out of drinks. The men decided to stock up on more alcohol and headed to the town of Trud. They got on their bikes and roamed the road to their destination.
Between the two villages, however, the Roma were separated from another man. He also rode his bicycle and returned from work to Stroevo. As they passed, one of the hooligans took the stranger’s hat and began pedaling his bike even faster. However, his friend couldn’t keep his balance and fell, writes trafficnews.bg.
The thief caught up with him. Seeing that his comrade was on the ground, the second hooligan returned. The man asked for his hat, but instead received a severe blow to the face. The drunken thug threw him to the ground and continued the beatings. He forced his victim in the face until blood spurted from one of the stranger’s eyes. At that moment, a passerby stopped and came to the rescue.
Immediately afterwards, the two Roma fled. The victim was taken to the hospital and a signal was given to 112.
At the hospital, doctors discovered that the man had suffered minor injuries. A medical certificate was issued and the victim filed a complaint.
It wasn’t long before the bullies were discovered. The hooligan violently imposed on his victim who turned out to be an old acquaintance of the police. Furthermore, he was serving a sentence during the attack.
Babayit spent two days in custody and was later charged. He was prosecuted for causing bodily injury on the grounds of hooligan.
A month ago, the man appeared in court. He refused to plead guilty and the defense pleaded not guilty on his behalf. As reasons, the official lawyer stated that there were no indications of guilt.
However, the court panel did not share this opinion. The magistrates found the bully guilty and sentenced him to prison.
