The Bulgarian got a sweet revenge for the American for his dramatic elimination at the Australian Open this year. Our first rocket didn’t leave his opponent a chance and easily overcame him. In the next round, Dimitrov will face the winner of the pair, Marton Fuchovich and Hugo Delien.

However, Dimitrov did not allow Paul to get anywhere near any more opportunities for a breakthrough and took the lead with 3: 1. In the fifth game, the American served well and quickly took the lead with 30: 0, but Grigor managed to reduce, and Paul’s next pass came to tie. In the end, Dimitrov could not object and the American reduced the score.
In the sixth game, Grigor started well, connecting and forcing Paul to play a forehand with a force that came out. Dimitrov double faulted on his second pass. The Bulgarian made a mistake from an excellent position, giving Paul an advantage. Another bad blow followed and that meant a new point of advance for the American. Dimitrov managed to save a point with an excellent serve. Grigor made a good play and with an attack from the net restored the tie. Tommy Paul showed uncertainty on his pass, although he scored a lightning forehand point. Grigor showed a good game from the line and reached two set points. The American responded with a powerful ace of rights. On his next pass, Paul had to rely on a second serve, but the Bulgarian failed to take advantage of this advantage and forced the forehand, where the ball went. Grigor’s first serve did not go into this game, but he managed to win his next pass to a 4: 2 point, which was done and Dimitrov continued to make a breakthrough.

The ninth game started well for Grigor and after an excellent setback, the Bulgarian reached 40:15 and two set points. The first was deflected by the American, but in the next Dimitrov forced Paul to make a forehand error and Grigor took the lead with 2: 0 sets.
III set
Dimitrov started the third set in an excellent way, taking his pass without allowing a point to accumulate. In this opening game, Grigor managed to regain his first serve, which immediately gave the desired effect. Tommy Paul again didn’t focus on his first pass and quickly gave Gregor a three-point lead. However, the American managed to force Dimitrov to make a mistake. In the next tiebreaker, the Bulgarian showed excellent play from the line and after a big setback he again won an early advance.

There was a long play, which showed Dimitrov’s patience and Paul made a mistake, sending the ball out. The Bulgarian served well, followed by a return abroad.
