Romanians rank first in terms of domestic tourism complaints, after the traditional leaders, the British, disappeared from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast due to the corona pandemic, writes the Telegraph.

There won’t be many tourists this summer, and there are even fewer foreigners. According to industry leaders who have “categorized” their guests, the most pretentious this year are sometimes, for no reason, Romanians, whose grievances are like a national sport.

“They even give advice on Facebook forums on how to better complain, and when they do, they are confident of getting their money back or getting something free from above,” explains a longtime hotel employee. A Romanian woman once called for women to be banned from baking topless on the beach. She explained that this ruined her entire vacation because her husband looked at them all the time and was not paying attention to her. The few Russian guests used to complain about the slow complication due to the coronavirus service.

The number of hoteliers, restaurateurs and concessionaires on the beaches of the native sea shows why Bulgarians do not like to rest in our country. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the season is a complete failure, but “businessmen” accustomed to tourist disloyalty continue to abuse it.

The examples are isolated, but they tarnish the image of domestic tourism and they all put us under a common denominator, the industry commented. According to them, most of the complaints are related not to the organization of the vacation package, but to the conditions of the hotel where they are staying or to a delay in the trip itself due to obstacles related to the coronavirus. The most common infraction remains the discrepancy between what was promised and what the customer receives on the spot. There are cases of incorrect announcements of prices and services on the beach and other infractions of the rules. Otherwise, common complaints are of air conditioners not working, weak internet or no signal in rooms, slow service and complicated paperwork due to precautionary measures, say hoteliers working at Golden Sands.

At the start of the season, a BGN 5 fee for WiFi, offered on Nirvana Beach next to the marina in the northern part of Golden Sands, blew up the web with negative comments. Bathers also commented that much of the hotel’s offers are misleading advertising, including free umbrellas and sunbeds included in the reservation price. On the spot, it turned out that they were free only for the hotel pool, and for the sea beach it was paid separately, where fat-necked children collected money.

However, there were problems there despite the small number of tourists and the shortage of umbrellas – there were not enough spots and tourists had to get up early and tie their towels to the umbrellas to reserve them. Another irregularity, again related to the shade of the beach, is the double load.

“We pay in the morning, but when we go to the hotel for lunch, we find in the afternoon that our umbrella has been given to other vacationers, and they want to pay us again,” complain the unhappy. According to representatives of the hotel industry the reasons why Bulgarian tourists refuse to rest in the native sea,
