It is mandatory to wear protective masks in a car for the risk level 3 (orange) and risk 4 (red) regions of Greece, among which are the districts of Athens and Thessaloniki, announced the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. Our neighbor is tightening measures against the spread of the coronavirus.
In the event of non-compliance with the rules, each offender receives a fine of 150 euros.
According to our embassy in Athens for the risk level 3 (orange) and risk 4 (red) regions of Greece, the measures include the mandatory use of a mask in taxis, by the driver and passengers, as well as when travels in a car, unless the driver is not alone or with first-degree relatives traveling with him. The use of a protective mask is also mandatory in professional motor vehicles when there are other personnel or passengers besides the driver.
When riding a motorcycle, both the rider and the passenger are required to wear safety helmets (helmets), so an under-helmet mask is not required.
For risk level 4 areas (red), the maximum number of passengers in a car is three. In risk level 3 (orange) areas, the maximum number of passengers in a car is four people.
We remind you that a four-level map has been introduced in Greece to assess the health risk of the spread of the coronavirus.
Currently, the areas that fall in the “orange” zone are Serres, Thessaloniki, Athens, Ioannina, Trikala, Larissa and Livadia, and in the “red” zone is the district of Kastoria, as well as Kozani.
