Today is the 64th day of anti-government protests in Bulgaria. The “Great People’s Uprising 2” announced today in central Sofia takes more than 10 hours. The three main demands of the protest were repeated today: the resignation of the cabinet, the attorney general and early elections.

Security measures in the area have been reinforced. 6 people were arrested at checkpoints previously built by the Interior Ministry. Today’s demonstrations have passed without incident and tension so far, BNT reported.

Both the protesters and the police asked the people in the square to distance themselves from the provocateurs, and for this, even the protesters themselves spread a meter of special red and white tape in front of the police so that they would not be touched.

Already at 7:00 in the morning, the National Assembly building was surrounded by policemen. An hour later, a search began in the garden in front of the National Theater in search of dangerous objects.

Shrubs, garbage cans and inspection pits were searched. The Ministry of the Interior reported that metal tubes, wooden rods, 2 knives, a sling and a 10-liter tube containing an unidentified liquid with a strong odor were found. A bag filled with bottles of different colored liquids was also found.

The SDVR stated that they are ready to react to any provocation attempt.

Today’s protest is expected to last until midnight.
