Graduation from home: The education department and IT specialists are already discussing the idea. The goal in a pandemic situation is for all exams to be taken online without the need for schools to open their doors. The exams will be generated using special software, which is already being applied successfully in several countries such as Sweden, Spain, Great Britain and Norway, NOVA reported.
Tests on us will be tested in January in various schools in Sofia and Plovdiv. If the results are successful, students across the country may have their first full-time questioning next school year.
The software is based on the cloud and is based on the safest electronic environment, say the specialists who have taken on the task of integrating it in our country.
“Every student and teacher has an electronic profile. With it you enter and identify that you will take or give an exam. The student receives only the version of the exam, which is given to him, ”explained specialist Alexander Angelov.
At the beginning of the exam, the program locks the computer screen and the student can only use the keyboard and mouse. The countdown also begins.
“But you do get a chance to take a break if you have to go to the bathroom or another exam interruption,” Angelov explained.
A second English secondary school in the capital will be one of four schools, in which the first tests of the new system will be carried out. The principal states that the online test and the paper test will not differ in content. In the electronic version, however, there will be fewer copyists.
“It will be possible to automatically detect certain parameters such as time, keystrokes, resources used, which will not allow copying, as we have always feared. There will be an opportunity to control what students do,” he explained. the director of the school Emilia Lazarova.
There’s also another advantage: students will receive their grades seconds after the exam.
“Then the other problem is ruled out: the delay in the inspection. Students will see their results immediately. Of course, there is no need to explain why this evaluation is objective, ”said the school principal.
The pilot tests of the new software will last several months and will have the participation of almost 5,000 students.
The schools of our country are already on Christmas holidays. It will last until January 4. Then the youngest are expected to return to classrooms first, first through fourth grade. And for the older ones, the return will depend on the epidemiological situation.
