US President Donald Trump said shortly after returning to the Oval Office that the coronavirus infection was a “blessing from God,” US media reported.
The president of the United States tested positive for COVID-19 and spent three days in the hospital, before returning to the White House. Trump said the cocktail of drugs he was given at the Walter Reed Clinic had dramatically improved his health.
“It was amazing. I immediately felt good,” Trump said in a prerecorded video he posted on Twitter. The president said he wanted two of the drugs he was treated with to get the green light for emergency use. Trump promised to ensure that COVID-19 patients will receive the drugs for free.
The United States has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world, with more than 7.5 million confirmed infections and 211,000 confirmed deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. The New York Times reported that Trump’s three-day hospital treatment cost $ 100,000 and the average American cannot afford that luxury, with very little time left until the US presidential election.
