GERB defeated BSP and MRF today in the by-elections

GERB convincingly won private local elections across the country against candidates BSP and MRF, the party’s press office said. The GERB candidates in September, Strelcha, Sokolare, Bozveliysko, Kichenitsa, Medovina, Karageorgievo, Ostrets and Brestak congratulated each other on the victory in the first round.

With a convincing 120 vote lead over MRF candidate Metin Latifov from GERB, he won the local vote in Karageorgievo village (Aytos municipality) in the first round.

Again in the first round, Yuzjan Ramadanov from GERB was elected mayor of Kichenitsa village (Razgrad municipality). There he collected 169 votes to 141 and 21 for the MRF and BSP candidates. GERB will also have a mayor in the town of Medovina (Popovo municipality). Todor Borisov won against the ABV candidate.
With a landslide victory (516 by 63 votes) over the BSP candidate – Ivan Paraskevov, he won the elections in the largest town of the Provadia municipality – Bozveliysko. Yoshka Tsvetkova became mayor of Sokolare village (Byala Slatina municipality) after defeating the MRF and BSP candidates in the first round.

Also Violeta Krasteva and Nelly Dimitrova of the GERB won the elections in the mayoralty of Ostrets (Targovishte municipality) and Brestak village (Valchi dol municipality), since they are the only candidates. The same applies to the candidate for mayor of Septemvri municipality, supported by the GERB, Vaska Racheva. According to the parallel census in the Strelcha municipality, Georgi Pavlov, backed by GERB, won by more than 500 votes against the ABV candidate.

GERB candidates in Karlukovo village (Lukovit municipality) and Tenevo village (Tundzha municipality) will go to the second round with the BSP next Sunday.
GERB lost the elections in Bohot village (Pleven municipality), Bryagovo village (Parvomay municipality), Kapinovtsi village (Isperih municipality), Vodno village (Dulovo municipality) and Akandjievo village ( Belovo Municipality).

GERB President Boyko Borissov and the members of the party’s Executive Committee congratulate all the newly elected mayors on today’s by-elections. The GERB leadership expresses its gratitude to all the local party structures and the candidates who made great efforts during the electoral campaign.
