GERB appoints Alexander Andreev as president of the CEC

GERB’s PG proposes Alexander Andreev to assume the position of president of the Central Election Commission. This was stated by Daniela Daritkova and clarified that the candidacy was recognized by the non-governmental sector, reported bTV.

The position became vacant after Stefka Stoeva resigned after disagreeing with GERB’s changes to the Election Code. Andreev is a former member of the Commission and its spokesperson.
