After the residents of Sozopol protested in November against the construction of protection dikes on the Central Beach of the city by the beach concessionaire, in recent days the signs of the presence of an excavator on the Central Beach continue and their activities there.
This was followed by a letter from the Central Beach concessionaire in Sozopol, the “Auto Factor” company EOOD, to the media in response to a report from the bTV bloc tomorrow. The report states that a bulldozer continues to dig on the central beach of Sozopol.
“Definitely do not respond to the truth shared by the neighbors that the beach is damaged. Once again, we declare that no sand is scraped from the sea and no protective dikes are built. On the beach, only protection activities are carried out by the “against table” method, which aim to preserve the integrity of the sandy strip, to prevent it from being impeded.
Since ACTS We contacted the president of the Municipal Council of Sozopol Georgi Pinelov to discuss the case with the presence of an excavator on the Central Beach of the city and its activities there, as well as the development of the city, the necessary changes in its management.
“I am firmly on the side of my fellow citizens and I support them, as I did last year, at the same time. During 41 years of conscious life, such dikes do not remember being erected. The Central Beach Bay is relatively closed and there is no need for so-called “shore protection facilities”. On the other hand, the facts that the new concessionaire transformed the beach as a whole are indisputable. It’s cleaner, lighter and neater, ”Pinelov said.
When asked how he explains the presence of the bulldozers on the beach, Pinelov replied: “From what I understand from my fellow citizens, the media and government agencies, the presence of a bulldozer on the city beach is unacceptable, as well as its activities. I am convinced that both the citizens of Sozopol and the concessionaire want a beautiful stretch of sand. The discrepancies are in the ways and means to achieve this goal. “
“The relevant state institutions, such as the Cuenca Directorate, the RIEW and the Ministry of Tourism, must inform whether subsequent inspections should be carried out. It is correct to regulate or prohibit this type of dyke once and for all”, said the president of the City Council of Sozopol.
“For a year, the municipality of Sozopol has had a new management. I think the direction taken for development is correct. Many things have to be changed. The main priority is to recover the municipality of Sozopol, as a result of the deterioration of its financial situation. Quite reasonably, the development of Sozopol was associated with summer maritime tourism. Along with the beautiful beaches and the crystal clear sea, the municipality of Sozopol offers exceptional history and archaeological monuments, a well-developed bed base and decent infrastructure. We must make more efforts to establish ourselves as an even more modern, attractive and preferred tourist destination.
Fisheries are also developing in Sozopol and Chernomorets. Although on a smaller scale, in the villages on the outskirts of Sozopol municipality, on the Strandzha mountain itself, agriculture and livestock are developing. Despite the difficult health situation, I want to end our conversation positively about COVID-19. Sozopol is a city of more than 2630 years. Its inhabitants have experienced many ups and downs and have always survived. That is why we have created and preserved a wonderful and impressive city, with a rich culture and traditions, with an inexhaustible potential for development.
