Vince Refet, the most famous representative of extreme sports, died while training his team on jetpacks in Dubai. What was ominous was that the incident was broadcast on specialized online television. The recordings were immediately stopped so that they were not disseminated on the Internet, as they became evidence in the investigation into the causes of death of the 36-year-old Frenchman.
Before embarking on jet backpack flights, Refet was known as a multiple winner of skydiving competitions and the so-called BASE jump (jump from high places on the ground with subsequent opening of a parachute). In 2014, he jumped from the tallest building in the world – the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
In recent years, it has indulged in jetpack flights. The specialized carbon suit and all the equipment allow it to fly at 240 km / h at an altitude of 1800 meters.
On their most spectacular flight, Refet, along with his compatriot Frederic Fusion, entered the door of a flying plane. The performance, held in November 2017, is known as the “Heavenly Gate.”
