Students from four classes at the capital’s 107th Khan Krum Primary School have been in quarantine for 14 days, since Sept. 19, due to a teacher infected with COVID-19.
The first cases of infected teachers at school 107 were before September 15. Then two felt unwell and later a test confirmed the diagnosis. The third infected teacher taught 4 classes for the last time.
“At the moment they will be in quarantine for 14 days, and on October 2 they will return. Your training will take place in a remote environment. The colleague who worked with the children strictly followed the measures, which I guarantee, ”said the school principal, Dinko Kalapish.
Mass testing of all school personnel begins Monday.
And doctors demand vigilance: Children are not seriously ill, but they can be carriers. That is why they ask for strict hygiene, social distance and indoor masks.
“For other doctors, however, masks are not the best means of protection in school: their inappropriate use carries the risk of spreading other infections,” said Prof. Dr. Radka Argirova.
According to Dr. Tihomir Mustakov, allergist at the University Hospital “Alexandrovska”, the mask works effectively from 2 to 4 hours, ie. each child should have two or three masks. “In addition, it should not be touched, it should not be removed so that it is clean and can achieve its protective properties,” advises the doctor.
According to him, split jets are more effective than masks, even during breaks, more time outdoors, and frequent hand washing with warm soapy water.
