The case against Dr. Ivan Dimitrov, who killed repeat offender Joro Dzhivizov with an illegal “Walter” pistol on March 2, 2018, began today with the questioning of witnesses, a reporter said. Plovdiv24.bg.
Joko Dzhivizov’s mother, Zlatka Atanasova, was the first to speak to the magistrates. She said that during her lifetime Joro worked as a general doner worker in “Stolipinovo”. He went to prison several times, but because he “fights and fights with other boys” and not because of robbery. I had three children. The night of the murder he left at 9 p.m., but never returned home.
Details about the incident at Dr. Dimitrov’s house were told to his cripple, Dimo Todorov, who lives downstairs with his wife Tsvetanka:
“I was home and I was pretty tired; I went to bed around 11am before midnight. At 2:15 I got up to go to the bathroom. I heard a noise at the door. I thought Ivan was on shift at night and came home from work.
At two o’clock we heard thunder! Shots! There were 2-3 in number. We were startled, got up and went out onto the terrace. It was really cold, it must have been -7 degrees. I was leaning against the door frame and my wife walked over to the railing and started talking to Ivan, who was on the patio.
I didn’t hear what they were talking about exactly, I understood that there was an attempted robbery. My wife asked him why he hadn’t called the police and Ivan replied that the thief had already escaped. Then he told us to go home and we went to bed, ”said Todorov crippled in court.
According to him, this is another attempt to steal the property, and once they even stole them while they were stopping. Todorov did not realize that a murder had occurred until the next day. When he went to work, he saw the broken lock on the door. He also did not know if Dr. Dimitrov’s family was in the house at the time.
According to his wife Tsvetanka, in addition to the illegal pistol, Ivan Dimitrov also had a rifle, which he kept in the hallway of the house. Shooting at stray animals in the courtroom was also mentioned. Tsvetanka Todorova did not appear in the courtroom because she was ill.
Later, ambulance officers Tihomir Daskalov (driver) and Veselina Taneva (doctor) spoke in court. They were working the night of the murder. Doctors recalled receiving a signal for a defenseless man lying in a car near the district administration. Joro’s death was determined on the spot. His body had started to freeze. Next to the body was a knife, in which there were no traces of secretions. The doctors called the police and left.
The case continues with the questioning of more witnesses.
