Five of those infected with the coronavirus in the village of Osina are children.

A new outbreak of COVID-19 broke out in the Rhodopean village of Osina, Satovcha municipality. In the town, an infection was confirmed in 23 of 600 inhabitants. The infection in the remote settlement was brought from a Sofia hospital. Among the identified cases there are 5 children.

The first case in the area was of a nurse caring for a sick woman. RHI-Blagoevgrad director Dr. Kaloyan Kaloyanov explained that about 3 weeks ago an Osina patient was released from a Sofia hospital. She had cancer and underwent surgery.

“Unfortunately, she died and the nurse who treated her, the local jeep, was the first contact to be in good health at the hospital,” he said.

In the family of the deceased, half of the members are infected, the other half are not. Her granddaughter is concerned that no one has shown her that her grandmother was a carrier of the infection.

“Our grandmother was diagnosed with cancer for 3 years. Our grandmother was released from a hospital in Sofia” St. Ivan Rilski “without any symptoms of coronavirus and for a week we have been under attack throughout the region. Half of the family is in quarantine for 28 days, the other half for 14, we feel very bad,” said Gulzara Batalova.

Dr. Kaloyan Kaloyanov clarified that these are two families in Osina who had contact with each other. They live in 3 houses on 1 street.

In the first case, the mayor of Satovcha insisted on stricter measures, given frequent visits to markets not only in the municipality but also in neighboring municipalities.

“My opinion is that the agreement must be quarantined, and even more so that to date there are more than 20 cases, but in my opinion there are at least 20 unproven. It is not necessary to be a doctor to judge that, according to the situation of the hidden period, etc., the spread is a fact. Things will probably be like an avalanche, “said Osina Mayor Arben Mimenov.

At Osina, people are concerned. Some of them also have concomitant diseases.

Dr. Milan Parvanov from Gotse Delchev Hospital explained that there are currently a total of 11 people in the infection room with a proven PCR test. There are 6 people with a clinical picture of Osina.

There are no patients in serious condition. However, there is a shortage of medical personnel and supplies.
