During the day there were five incidents with tourists in the area north of Botev Peak and some were killed. Mountain rescuers from Lovech, Troyan, Karlovo, Kalofer have mobilized because the conditions on the mountain are very harsh at the moment.
Four people were seriously injured, one very seriously injured. They don’t suffer from having people. One of those in need has already been transferred to a hospital. Rescuers pulled the other three off the mountain. There is also a fatal accident, the deceased will be transported tomorrow. All accidents occurred as a result of slips and falls.
The situation in the mountains is underestimated. The snow is small, but it is hard and requires specialized equipment, with which the victims were not, said Hristo Slivkov, head of the Mountain Rescue Service in Troyan, cited by BTA.
