Teams from the Ministry of the Interior, firefighters, regional sanitary inspectorates, the Food Agency and the Consumer Protection Commission will help large retail chains comply with anti-epidemic measures. In addition to managing the store, customers will also be fined for not complying with anti-epidemic measures. This became clear after two meetings in the Ministry of Economy with representatives of the main retail chains.

“Absolutely everyone is committed to complying with the measures. Many of the chains have reorganized their activities. In addition, some stores have extended their opening hours. More guards have been appointed, “Minister Lachezar Borisov explained.

In order not to queue in front of stores, the Ministry of the Interior will help. Police teams will be on duty, circling and reacting to a signal.

In addition to merchants, unscrupulous customers will also be fined.

“You do not wear a mask, you are fined under the Health Law. The store does not comply with the measures, we close it. It is dishonest, but if the rules are not followed, we will close,” said associate professor Angel Kunchev.

The assistance of the Ministry of Labor was also expected. I discussed the shortage of workers with Minister Sacheva, that manpower will be provided through the Labor Offices, “explained Minister Lachezar Borisov.

Retailers have asked the state for a “fast track” to vaccinate people who work in stores.

In the morning, at the briefing at the National Operational Headquarters, serious warnings were issued for compliance with the anti-epidemic measures. Health authorities have threatened to close entire chains if there is no distance between customers and compliance with anti-epidemic measures.

“The measures are being followed even more strictly than expected. Security measures are taken inside the stores. The extension of working hours is for the comfort of the people and to avoid crowds,” explained the executive director of the Association of Modern Commerce, Yordan Mateev, in the briefing of the Ministry of Economy “If the customers themselves are reluctant to follow the measures, the stores will not be able to force them,” he added.

The Head of State Health Inspectors, Prof. Angel Kunchev, will speak on this and other current issues on Friday morning in “Hello Bulgaria”.
