This is possible with the amendments to the Reserve Law of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria (ZRVSRB) approved today in second reading, announced the Ministry of Defense.
The changes create an opportunity to take a tour of duty on the voluntary reserve. This will be done through the conclusion of a contract that provides remuneration, health and social security. Increasing the number of Bulgarian citizens with military training will improve the ability to replenish the armed forces.

Changes in the law allow employers to keep their staff, granting employees leave without pay and allowing them to spend a period of service in the voluntary reserve.
“Only 20 percent of the reserve is full of personnel. Only 1,000 Bulgarian citizens have received military training and this leads to a permanent reduction in the number of Bulgarian citizens prepared and trained to defend the homeland,” said Milen Mihov, member of Defense Committee of the National Assembly.
The amendments also allow expanding the training of students at secondary education levels, such as the acquisition of skills related to the defense of the homeland, survival in military crises, as well as the acquisition of knowledge about the missions and tasks of the forces. armed.
“Service in the voluntary reserve is for up to six months and is in three stages.
